5th graders in the Near Space Balloon Launch Club are working together to design and create micro experiments to send into near space! The students will build a payload to hold their experiments, GoPro camera, GPS device, and Eagle Flight Computer . We will be sending up 3 micro-experiments to see how the change in air-pressure will affect a raw egg, popcorn kernels, and a bag of unopened chips. The payload will be attached to a parachute and weather balloon. We are hoping to see our weather balloon reach an altitude of 90,000 to 100,000 feet! The balloon will be launched on Friday, October 21st at 9:15 am in the Fox Hollow Field.
